George Wiedemann
Chief Executive Officer

The whole point of leading a marketing services firm is to make a difference for the client: advance the brand, engage the customer base and uplift their company value. When an agency and its clients groove together in this way, it’s a beautiful harmony.
George has been a CEO in the marketing world for 40 years, beginning with running Claritas, a geo-demographic database and analytics firm. In 1980, he founded Grey Direct and built it from the ground up into a global direct response marketing agency network. In 2000, George was recruited to Silicon Valley, where he became CEO of Responsys, a SAAS MarCloud email platform that went public and was acquired by Oracle for its Marketing Cloud. George served on the board of the Direct Marketing Association for 15 years and was chairman in 1999-2000. Seven years later, he and his partner Ken Lomasney founded the agency that is now DRUM.
In addition to his passion for cooking and hosting dinner parties, George enjoys playing the piano. Lately, he’s been learning how to play solo pieces by his favorite jazz pianist, Bill Evans.
