The VP, Director of Client Partnerships oversees account growth, strategic thought leadership and client relationships in the retail vertical. They will demonstrate leadership not only in managing her/his staff and key accounts, but in other actions that strengthen and grow the agency and support the DRUM culture. These can include owning new business and marketing opportunities, participating in senior leadership operations, and leading new agency initiatives.


  • Be a Trusted Advisor to our clients, providing expert advice, business growing insights and ideas.
  • Possess deep understanding and experience in the retail vertical and share knowledge with other team members.
  • Possess strong advertising knowledge and continue to advance knowledge within customer-first Omni channel strategies, people-based targeting, unified marketing, marketing automation and other advanced Martech applications.
  • Develop a relationship of trust and respect and be a safe haven for hard issues.
  • Responsible for performance and the health of the client/agency relationship on several accounts.
  • Consult with the Chief Client Officer on the overall agency manpower on assigned accounts.
  • Acquire knowledge of the client’s business so that marketing and advertising problems and opportunities may be anticipated.
  • Collaborate with DRUM senior leadership in Analytic, Strategy and Insights, Media and Creative departments to drive new initiatives furthering clients’ goals and growing agency relationship.
  • Develop annual and monthly revenue forecasts and staff resource needs across all clients.
  • Adopt and represent DRUM core values, vision and mission.
  • Supervise the development of account management staff – including passing on DRUM core values and standards.
  • Responsible for hiring high quality individuals who will be assets to the agency and help execute agency vision.
  • Protect the quality of work life and personal life of your team members
  • Actively involved with developing new business both within and outside his/her account group
  • Serve in other agency senior leadership capacity as needed.


  • Bachelor’s degree, an advanced degree preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of the advertising/digital/direct marketing business.
  • 10+ years agency experience in client management and senior leadership roles.
  • Deep retail experience.
  • Proven success in management and mentoring teams.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills and strong presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to solve problems and to think strategically.
  • Strong Initiative/Entrepreneurial skills.
  • Calm demeanor, positive outlook, ability to inspire team members and clients.
  • Potential to develop into a senior leadership role at DRUM.
